For centuries Bordeaux has been the centre of the wine world and to this day generally dominates any conversation regarding great wine and wine investment. Bordeaux is the metric by which all of the world’s wines have been measured against, with no serious wine cellar being complete without a healthy allocation of this region!

The Bordeaux region is divided by the River Gironde and produces left bank and right bank wines. There are over 13,000 growers in the region producing some 700 million bottles of wine annually!

The most famous Left Bank Estates include Chateau Lafite, Latour, Mouton Rothschild, Haut Brion, Margaux and La Mission Haut Brion. The most famous Right Bank Estates include Chateau Petrus, Ausone, Le Pin and Cheval Blanc.

Exceptional vintages include 1982, 1986, 1989, 1990, 1996, 2000, 2003, 2005, 2009 and 2010

The 2009 vintage has been hailed as the best ever by the world renowned wine critic Robert Parker
